Danny McDermott

After earning his BS in Engineering, Danny moved to NYC in the 90s and quickly became a dynamic force in the comedy scene. He seamlessly blended acting and producing, working on plays, sketch comedy, and stand-up shows. For eight years, he ran five venues, producing eight shows weekly and providing 30 spots a week for comedians, attracting big names like Jim Gaffigan, Ed Helms, Sarah Silverman, Marc Maron, and Bill Burr. He also co-founded the Comedy Soapbox with Steve Hofstetter.

Danny’s talent shone brightly as he headlined opposite Caroline’s Comedy Club and performed an intricate one-man show with 11 different characters off-off Broadway. His versatility was further showcased through leading roles in six off and off-off Broadway productions.

In 1995, Danny wrote his first screenplay, and in 2013, he relocated to LA. There, he produced a comedy series that premiered at the Hollywood Improv. He continued his creative pursuits, running a comedy room in Burbank since 2017. One of his scripts saw a successful reading with Christopher Titus, Judd Nelson, and Casper Van Dien.

During the pandemic, Danny’s innovative spirit led to a series of shorts about a man with split personalities in quarantine, earning him his own sponsored show on StreamYard. Renowned acting coach Bob McAndrew praised Danny’s wide-ranging talent, describing his one-man show “How Not To Act” as exhilarating and reminiscent of Alec Guinness.
