Miguel Ángel Lopez(he/él) is a queer Xicano-Indigenous(Hñähñu) award-winning director and produced playwright from Pomona, CA, passionate about creating art for working-class communities. His directing credits include Voy camino de Belén, The Pirate Queen by Andrew Knopp, The Long White Line by Carlos-Zenen Trujillo, Knuckle Games by Erik Rodriguez, Mexican Shoots Himself in the Chest by Stanley Santiago, No saco nada de la escuela by Luis Valdez, and Bella Luna by Kristen Russo. After graduating from Mt. SAC and Cal State University, Puvungna(Long Beach), he wanted to explore how to decolonize theater. He loves exploring intersectional themes of the working-class, family, immigration, and masculinity through a Chicano/Latiné framework. His work has been produced by Teatro Toibingna, El Teatro Campesino, and Teatro Frida Kahlo. He works for the Latino Theatre Co., is a member of QueerWise, and Artistic Director of Teatro Toibingna, Pomona based.
