Thea Pueschel

Thea Pueschel is a third generation Californian, repeated Dorland Mountain Arts Colony Resident, and a multi-hyphenated creative, with a bachelor’s degree in film production with a focus in directing, an MBA, among other certificate and degrees. Thea welcomes the chance to direct for the stage for the first time with Bara Swain’s ONE WORD and John Bavoso’s AN AWKWARD CONVERSATION IN THE SHADOW OF MOUNT MORIAH. Thea has written/directed/produced several micro/short documentaries and short films starting in adolescence and is returning to the craft of directing narratives after a 10-year hiatus. During the past decade Thea has had a mixed media solo exhibition at The Center in Orange, artwork featured in Fullerton Museum Center, written/directed/produced wellness videos, and had several pieces of non-fiction and fiction published. Thea wrote/directed/produced their last film, The Russian (comedy), in 2013 and had their play The Disfellowshipped (inspired by being excommunicated from the Jehovah’s Witness faith) published in 2024 in the TRANSFORMATION: A WOMEN WHO SUBMIT ANTHOLOGY. “I would like to thank Ashley Karp for inviting me to direct, John Bavoso and Bara Swain for trusting me with their words, and my actors Miguel Elysee, Carol Kaufman, Dominique Turner and Gino-Charles Villanueva for sharing their talent, creative collaboration, vulnerability and generosity with me.”
