Storyline:

The year is 1916. Russia is catastrophically losing World War I, fighting against Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottomans. Fearing that the mystic Rasputin will persuade German-born Empress Alexandra (and through her – husband Tsar Nicholas II) to seek a humiliating truce with Germany that would shatter the Allied coalition, a desperate cabal of oddball conspirators hatches a murderous plot to “save” Russia and the monarchy.
